no surplus, lets say in the pompie house they owe 5000, the next year they owe 5500. did the pompie's have a surplus ?

Numbers I have seen showed decreases in the amount that the debt went up towards the end of the Clinton years, but that the raw debt went up every year including 2000.

If you have any thing to show something different, I'd be pleased to look at it.....but I'm not interested in ratios to gdp, personal income or any of that....just raw debt numbers.
