Ichy, You sure set a high standard to be met. I don't recall Harper saying all votes will be free votes, only that there would be more free votes. I think you are partly right, the only reason I can think of that he would want to have party discipline is to ensure the Bloc didn't have ministers to point at. I don't know if it bought any votes, but that seems like a plausible strategy if the goal is to let the issue die rapidly. It sure is odd how people can see the same information and interpret it so differently. I don't think Harper walks on water, but he gets a pass from me so far. It seems incredible to me that you think this government bears any resemblance to Martin's government. Step out from under your cloud, take off your dark sunglasses, and the future may seem brighter. -g
