How does me supporting a different (hopefully superior...) long-term strategy for the US in the Middle East EQUATE to 'abandoning the fight for civil rights in America in the 1960s'???????????? Have you lost your marbles? (I an not anti-war... just anti-failure....) I expect that by pulling Uncle Sucker out of the middle of the civil war in Iraq --- where we have a big fat target on our backs, and are being used by both sides as a scapegoat to blame all their problems and shortcomings on ---- that we will see a SIGNIFICANT IMPROVEMENT in the US's strategic position. And, ultimately, better chances for Democracy and pluralism and religious tolerance in the region --- ALL playing to Western interests.
