Maybe, but let's wait until it reaches the index value of 80 where the big support level is. If it does break 80 then the outlook for recession, or worse, in the US is likely.

When the attack didn't transpire at the beginning of the year I considered it most unlikely that it will for the simple reason that Iran has become stronger throughout the year, and the US weaker, than at that time.

But Israel has the "Masada complex" and is obsessed with being "wiped off the map" or so they say. Crazies there could do anything although I don't think they seriously fancy suicide. When push comes to shove I'm sure they will give back the stolen land but it will still take a lot of "negotiation".

The bottom line of all of this, of course, is that the US will now decline as a superpower. The game is over bar the shouting and everyone knows it.
