The US won't initiate a war with Iran on her own. But Israel might just engineer one nevertheless and with it drawing the US into it. I see no signs that Israel has lessened her opposition to Iran or resigned herself to a nuclear Iran. Quite the contrary, as the hawks in Israel seem to have their way, and the opposition under Netanyahu is even more strident as evidenced by his recent rhetoric on US media.

Who knows how this will evolve, but given the plethora of rhetoric, I just cannot see Israel standing idly by while Iran grows her nuclear capabilities. After all, Israel is the elephant in the region, and has prepared for war including nuclear war for a long time. And Israel is not without allies. Israel has been doing her part in the unfolding of apocalyptic prophecy perfectly, and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is playing right along.
