ElM, the invasion of Iraq was a great success in many ways.

....Saddam is not terrorizing and killing many people now
....He isn't paying Islamic Jihad terrorists to blow people up in Israel
....Saddam's horror son Uday and brother Qusay are deceased
....Various soldiers have had a lot of live round training
....Potential opponents such as Libya, Syria, N. Korea, China, Iran have been given military cultural lessons for make benefit they not cause too much trouble
....Predators and lots of military technology have had real-time testing
....The price of oil is high, so profits for Exxon, etc are very high
....It has kept the public distracted from other political shenanigans
....Saddam has been paid back for saying 911 was a jolly good show even though it was nothing to do with him [he said]
....The WMDs have been eliminated - there weren't any [no news there really]
....The fly-paper theory has worked brilliantly = fighting them in Fallujah means Al Q isn't rampaging in jihad down the streets of Kansas [just kidding]

Whether such achievements were worth the cost is not something I'm giving an answer to.
