Turns out that Murkowski made 35 appointments in the last hour of his term, including his nephew to the Alaska Railroad Commision. Palin is reviewing them and I hope she annuls a bunch.

And watch what she does with these notorious big Alaska pork projects!

1) The Bridge to Nowhere #1 - Ketchikan/Gravina Island
2) The Bridge to Nowhere #2 - Anchorage/Point McKenzie
3) The Road to Nowhere - Juneau to, almost but not quite, Skagway (Frank's dumbest project!)

The Alaska Daily News had a guest editorial the other day calling on Palin to cancel the bridges, and give the money back to the feds. I think its quite likely these prjects will all be cancelled, but I'm not sure about giving back the money now that its no longer earmarked. Part of the money is just general transportation funding that is much desired for other projects elsewhere in the state. We'll see.
