Since you are a student of history I suggest you pull out those resources and read about Afghanistan in depth as well as Vietnam . Russia and the French were in those countries respectively before America. Seems that the direction of this thread has gotten skewed from talking about Obama and the various candidates to talking about Bush and Republicans. You can bash Bush and Republicans however that is not the way to win the 2008 election-----as some of those Republican votes will be needed to win for any candidate. The 2008 election will be won on the basis of the candidates and their ideas not on the basis of accusations. It will be won because of voters ignoring party lines and independents deciding what direction to go. This I sense that Barrack Obama understands. You get a lot more with honey than with accusations and venom. mj
