You may mean something like "under our jurisprudence system a person is assumed to be innocent until proven guilty." This simply means the court is supposed to assume they are innocent while looking at the evidence. All that time cunningham was talking to the press about how innocent he was didn't make him one bit innocent. Just because a person hasn't been convicted doesn't mean they are innocent, it simply means they haven't been found guilty yet. If they did it they are guilty of the charges, they are guilty even if they are found innocent.
