I think the goal is not the elimination of greenhouse emissions, but the elimination of the increase in emissions, coupled with developing technology to decrease what is already in the atmosphere.

Now you're getting a lot closer to reality. Emissions will increase, there's no way around that, but technologies already exist to capture and sequester atmospheric CO2. They could not only be deployed, but become cheaper and more efficient if the resources currently wasted chasing fairy tales were redirected accordingly

I'd have some respect for Al Gore and the rest of the wailing Nellies if they'd turn their attention to real solutions such as this. This can work...
