The thing that is disconcerting is that AMD always throws around terms like "mature yields" and makes this claim that when they launch a process they are at "mature yields", implying Intel is not. The problem is, most would understand this to reference a particular goodness in the FRACTION of good die per wafer.

To have AMD then tell people, "oh, by the way, we're redefining that term to mean something much weaker" should trouble investors.

This definition is so weak that one cannot be sure there are any capacity gains to be had at this point from switching to 65nm.

On ATI, yes, as I've said, that's likely to cause Hector to puke this quarter.
