"Show me the post that says that Saddam's regime will be decimated within months, but the remaining parties will be unable to live together peacefully."

Here you go Elroy:

Representative Ike Skelton, September 2002: “I have no doubt that our military would decisively defeat Iraq’s forces and remove Saddam. But like the proverbial dog chasing the car down the road, we must consider what we would do after we caught it.”

Howard Dean, then a candidate for president and now the chairman of the Democratic National Committee, February 2003: “I firmly believe that the president is focusing our diplomats, our military, our intelligence agencies, and even our people on the wrong war, at the wrong time. ... Iraq is a divided country, with Sunni, Shia and Kurdish factions that share both bitter rivalries and access to large quantities of arms.”

..and many of us right on these threads, who'd already BEEN through Vietnam, and thought we'd LEARNED this lesson already.

The old story of inverted causality, Elroy.
"First came the elevated temperatures then came the CO2, which caused the temperatures to go up."
All of which was predicted.

One must be a lib to understand the logic.

"Show me the post that says that Saddam's regime will be decimated within months,"

Single post? Maybe not. I don't think there was anyone who seriously doubted that Saddam would be easily defeated.

There were plenty of people, some of the Democrats, who predicted exactly what wound up happening before the war.

Show me the post that says that Saddam's regime will be decimated within months, but the remaining parties will be unable to live together peacefully.

I said it repeatedly. I expected Hussein to capitulate [although not as quickly as he did] and that urban warfare would become the order of the day.

If there were plents of people saying as much, I sure don't remember them....

That's because you weren't even born then......and you certainly weren't posting on this thread.
