Obama is very aware of his own drawbacks though. He knows that his race, terrible sounding name and inexperience all could be counted against him. Still he is amazed and flattered that so many people are inspired by him. This could go three ways for Obama.

1) Wait until 2012 or 2016 (very safe choice)
2) Remain a presence but don't actually run, waiting for VP slot
3) Run and cross his fingers

Hillary does not have the luxury of waiting eight years, so she is under more pressure. Now that everyone expects her to run, will she decide not to? And is she waiting to see what Obama will do?

As for being the next JFK, that's pushing it, though I understand he too was a first term senator with a lot more charisma than experience.
