Kennedy almost lost because he was a Catholic. Despite the fact that he was a superior candidate to Nixon. They say his father had to intervene in certain states to bribe certain people into supporting him. Nixon did some cheating too, they say in the rural areas. Kennedy therefore got in because he had a very powerful father. Could anyone here actually see Obama beating McCain in Missouri, Ohio, Nevada, New Hampshire and Wisconsin? He might have better luck in FLorida and New Mexico, but we need Ohio to win. That means winning over a good percentage of moderate-conservative whites. Just the type McCain appeals to most.
