"Here is what Scott Ritter said before the Iraq war:"

I don't think you can make the case that Scott was the consensus at the time. Can you find some who tracked with Scott? Probably. Were they the majority? No.

Quagmire was the popular word used in the media and on this thread by the lefties.

re: I'm betting that Saddam's gonna be around a lot longer than anyone can predict.

I'm betting that we don't capture Bhagdad.

I'm betting that we stall outside Bhagdad.

I'm betting that this becomes an absolute quagmire.

Saddam is still around, we don't have control of Baghdad, we didn't stall outside Baghdad, and Iraq has become an absolute quagmire.

3 out of 4 isn't bad.

CJ, > I don't think there was anyone who seriously doubted that Saddam would be easily defeated.

I like how the naysayers tossed up a bunch of doom-n-gloom predictions, then celebrated when only a few of them turned out to be true.

Here is what Scott Ritter said before the Iraq war:

That's not what people here were saying........nonetheless, I find it interesting that you find fault with the naysayers because they didn't get their doomed prophesy exactly right but nary a critical remark for the idiots who got the invasion wrong, costing this country numerous lives and billions of dollars. Very interesting priorities you have!
