The current released version is 1970. There are no problems that I know of with that one. The version I'm having problems with is 3036, Parallels Desktop Beta. The beta version has this 'coherent' mode that runs Windows full screen on the Mac OSX Desktop. This mode is ideal because you can access all Mac and Windows software directly since both the Mac Dock and Windows Task Bar (with the infamous 'Start' button) are available on the Mac Desktop. The other advantage is that both OS's have full access to all the screen(s) real estate; with the released version, Windows has to work within a Parallels window. It's hard to imagine a better integration of the two OS's that the beta provides. Unfortunately, there's a bug in the beta's 'coherent' mode that allows you to use Windows normally only once. Now maybe it has something to do with using two screens, I don't know. I'm confident that Parallels will fix it.While waiting just for fun I already tried to put a few flavors of Linux on Parallels. Absolutely no problems with the installs but I can't say much about using it as I haven't the time to try it out. I ...did try copy/paste between the Mac and Parallel (ctrl-C) and it didn't work. I don't like the way it "captures" the mouse - I figure it should be more transparent. Possibly there are ways to make it work the way I prefer. The normal version of Parallels resolves all your concerns when using Windows XP. I don't know if the fixes work with Linux. With Windows, you have to install Parallels Tools from the Parallels Menu at the top while Windows is running. This installs the Tool's installer into Windows. Then, while in Windows, you install the Tools into Windows by double clicking Parallels tools at the right side of the Task Bar - this fires up the installer wizard. Sort of like stand on head, chew gum while replacing micro-minature gear in watch. Once Parallels Tools are installed, your mouse cursor switches flawlessly between Windows and Mac as you drag it over either environment. The cursor turns white over Windows and black over OSX. Copy/Paste works just fine also, except it's a bit of a pain to switch from Command C to Control V and vice versa. If you just use the released versions of Parallels Desktop, there's no problem.
