Have you been paying attention to recent events? I don't think the Lebanese care much for us now.


The idea is over the long term if the US is strongly allied with Israel and Kurdistan, it would be easier to push US interests in Lebanon, and hopefully squeeze Hezbollah into Syria or wherever. It's hard for me to understand the factions in Lebanon that are pro-Syria (presumably instead of being pro-Lebanon). What faction wants to cede control to a foreign power?
