Re: Yet Fab30 is supposed to be well into its conversion by then, and so presumably offline. Yet Fab 36 is supposedly "fully converted" by then, so who is producing these?

Funny that 200mm wafer outs remain almost unchanged right through Q4 07, as if FAB30 is still almost running at full 90-nm capacity. Apparently "300mm transition to FAB38 starting in H107" must apply to getting equipement in place, rather than actual production. Intel could very well be producing more 45-nm CPUs in Q4 07 than AMD will be producing 65-nm CPUs from FAB38.

You may notice on the same slide that the decline of 90nm wafer starts matches the FAB30->FAB38 conversion rate exactly. Keep in mind that current FAB30 equipment cannot do 65nm.
The very fact that AMD keeps as many FAB30 production lines running as possible rather indicates IMHO that they expect to be able to use every mm2 of manufactured die. There is a speed limit for fab conversion you know...

I'd say that up-to 2.6Ghz Semprons will sell quite well for a while, with the option of going dual core left open. Additionally there is chipsets, maybe graphics, and perhaps legacy Opteron production.

PS I would consider this obviously biased and deceiving summarizing of the slide a deliberate insult to the intelligence of the board.
