Didn’t get much discussion. Anyone know what’s behind this? Why would the Q appear to make a potential buy out easier?

The cash required to get 20% of a $65 billion market cap company is $13 billion. Not exactly chicken feed, but not out of the range of a consortium or a very large company which might offer a stock and cash combo.

This is the kind of activity that reminds me of the recent change in the Saudi Ambassador. A son of the current King, I think, and former head of Saudi intelligence for years, goes back suddenly and for no apparent reason after only a few months as Ambassador to the US. The previous guy, Bandar, had been in place for decades.

Like the change in Ambassadors, it is something that absolutely, positively means something is up because these kinds of things do not happen except for a good reason.

And the market seems to have noticed, too, as we are up a nice bit with no particular news to drive things.

Could Jha's ascension to COO somehow be related to these tea leaves?

Has the time come for Spinco?

Anyone have a chrystal ball?

Perhaps Q is getting ready to make a large potential acquisition and plans to do an all stock transaction (i.e. rather than pay for the acquired company with cash, Q issues stock). Raising the threshold would allow Q greater headroon with respect to the acquisiton price.

Maybe the Q is getting ready to do a large all acquisition, paid for with Q stock rather than cash. The next question is who that might be ?
