I love looking at maps too.
When planning a trip anywhere,
i try to get ahold of back country road maps,
hiking maps, park maps, etc...
If I do enough studying beforehand,
i find that the landscape seems a lot
more familiar, and it seems to
make more lasting impression on my memory.
