Clapper,

Yeah, the last time we heard from Mannie was Friday afternoon. What I imagine has happened is he's cleaning up the mess in his house and probably helping out other folks too.

Your gang getting pumped from Christmas? What are the presents of choice this year? My three year old grand daughter is totally psyched - we are meeting all of them at my wife's parents house in Buffalo..heading up this Saturday. They are a huge Irish family - we'll have 40 people for Christmas Eve dinner at their house - I miss being around here on Christmas, but A20's parents are in their middle 80's and it's important to be there...plus it is a howling good time.

Itsall,

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Mannie has been without power and maybe without a phone since his last message. I've come across a few comments on blogs written by people from the Seattle area who have managed to post using cell phones. They said they've been without power since the storm -- and that cell phones haven't even been working much of the time. I guess things are in quite a mess in some areas, and from the sound of it, power may not be restored everywhere for a couple of more days. I guess it's cold too, and that the hotels are full, so a lot of people are having to "camp out" in their homes with camp stoves, lamps, etc... Having been through that for 10 days in Jan. '98, I feel sorry for them and hope the weather doesn't turn much colder as it's really not much fun at all.
