Was that sarcasm, JOchen? I couldn't tell without hearing or seeing you. Because there is no doubt that this was a caving in to fear. The threat was a call by an anonymous tipster and the police were concerned that they couldn't protect the performers. There weren't even any specific threats that I know of. Tom and I were merely expressing our own views of the director, but we certainly weren't changing the reasons for the cancellation. Although I suppose the tipster could be a lover of traditional opera taking it into his own hands to protect Mozart from such sacrilege.
