"Falling (or crushing) oil prices is the best way to contain Iran."

Also, one might wave a wand and change a major U. S. river from water to oil.

Many years ago an activist group on a university campus tried to put pressure on the company that managed the school cafeterias by using bullhorns to urge students to stop eating. It didn't work very well. So they changed their strategy and began hollering, "GO to the CAFETERIA and EAT . . .AS MUCH . . . AS POSSIBLE." That didn't work very well either.

So what is to be done to cause these "crushing" oil prices?

RE: Crushing Iran/Terrorists, Saving Detroit, Improving Traffic, and Lifting the Self Esteem of All Americans

George. You know we really have to do something about the mess in Iraq and the balance of payments. So here is the deal. We'll take that $70 billion annually spent in Iraq and for the next two years, buy new Mercedes Benz Smart Cars averaging 54 mpg, for all Americans as long as the money lasts and according to whom drives the most miles per day in their daily commute. This will have the immediate effect of reducing crude consumption and prices, strengthening our balance of payments, and driving the terrorists into starvation. We can just buy the design from Mercedes for a couple billion, and if we are really smart, hire Mercedes management to build the things in Detroit. That way we can keep the autoworkers off of the welfare roles for at least another two years. This will help with the first of the twin deficits. And won't we all feel better driving a new Mercedes??? Think of the savings on Medicaide provided Prozac.

OK???

Let's get it done. First 100 hours.

Your sweetest,

Nancy
