Just looking for canaries in the gold mine.

Absurd as it sounds today I am dead serious in arguing that many Jews will migrate to China (or try to do so) when and if that nation regains its role as the center of the world where the power lies and the action is.

Part of the NY jews are from Brazil: fleeing from the Portuguese reconquest of Dutch possessions in Brazil. We pushed them into the sea from their settlement in Olinda in NE Brazil.

Mid-17th century Brazil was having the first sentiment of a nationalism and we didn't want foreigners there.

Jewish Luso-Americans
In September, 1654, shortly before the Jewish New Year, twenty-three Jews of Portuguese ancestry from Recife, Brazil, arrived in New York, which at the time was under Dutch rule and known as New Amsterdam. This arrival was the beginning of Jewish-American history. Sephardi Portuguese Jews were also the early settlers of Newport (where the country's first synagouge was founded), Charleston, Philadelphia and Baltimore.

TJ, you have already claimed that no Chinese think different thoughts, as per your theory, and Yiwu the Mad's, that Chinese all think they same, even without any referenda, or polls, to tell them what to think.<most chinese think the state of israel is behaving as did the nazis of germany,> What do you mean "most"? Surely it's ALL Chinese.

So, where are the gas chambers and do the Israelis use Zyklon B or some other gas to exterminate the women and children? They are certainly hiding them well. Can you buy pillows with Palestinian hair as stuffing? I'm looking forwards to the scenes of the concentration camps. Is there a Jewish Dr Mengele conducting experiments on how long Palestinian children take to die in cold water, and what their reactions are to various injections of this that and the other toxic compounds?

I bet there isn't a shortage of organ "donors" because with a few million Palestinians being turned into dog food, soap and fuel for furnaces, pretty much anyone who needs a body part should be able to find an excellent tissue match and the right size part too from infant up to large adult male.

I really don't think all you Chinese are thinking quite straight, but maybe you are right and the Israelis are indeed doing it "as did the nazis of germany" as you claim.

It's interesting that despite such horrors going on, standard Chinese thinking "is not equated with any animosity towards jewish people, even of israel". That is so considerate and broad-minded. I guess it's business as usual and Chinese wouldn't want to upset cash flow over such trivia as death-dealing experiments on children, extraction of teeth with gold in them, etc...

Did those who dropped tears when viewing TV of little palestinian children wandering around also drop tears when the Tibetan children stopped wandering around the Himalayas, with bullets in their bodies - deliberately targeted rather than as "collateral damage"? Excuse my cynicism.

Anyway, Merry Christmas to all the "thinking" Chinese, the Nazi Israelis, the Palestinian children in the gas chambers, and may our CDMA profits be extreme in 2007.

Damn straight TJ - DON'T apologize. You call it as you see it! <just stating observation, with no political anything to anything, and so please do not set the NYT on me, and no, I will not apologize for anything > I can see there's no political anything to anything.

It's really nice that <the Chinese people and nation have always been very welcoming to the jews. > Jolly good show! How many million Jews live there? Are there synagogues all over and it's only other religions which were banned from holding superstitious meetings. I actually doubt there were many Jews who went to China to hand their property and lives over to Mao's mantras and MADness, even though they were very welcome.

Hello, long time lurker here. I wonder if you agree with the above opinion of most Chinese.

Halalujah = <traditionally the Chinese people and nation have always been very welcoming to the jews >

That's wonderful TJ, but apparently the Jews don't feel welcome enough. Because look:

<But, for the moment, the Jews of China remain something between an exotic memory and a transient whisper.>
jcpa.org

Meanwhile, New Zealand has been far more welcoming to Chinese, of not just Han or Hakka varieties. We [stupidly] give them ownership of our public assets and they are pleased to accept the donations. There are swarms of them and they pretty much own central Auckland now. Another family moved in next door a few days ago.

Yes, there were some Jews who went to China in the 1930s, which is a bit different from your claim. "always very welcoming to the jews". Here is a photo of a couple of policemen welcoming a Jew [so says the title anyway] haruth.com For some odd reason, when the British were gone from Shanghai, the Jews were too.

It seems to have been the British, who made Shanghai an international city, which enabled the Jews to escape there [not all that many, but some and not as many as went to the USA, along with Albert Einstein]. Without the British having made Hong Kong and Shanghai and Dalian accessible, the door would have stayed shut. haruth.com

Isn't cyberspace great. All the details one could want: chinajewish.org

And details of history is what they are. The total who went to China was only some 20,000 to 30,000. And they all left [despite being oh so welcome to hand over their assets and lives to the loving Han and Hakka]. Why do you think they left such a great place?

Jews have also been welcome in New Zealand. They were not only given public assets but private ones too. I myself have donated a wallop of funds to local Jewish enterprise. I say donated because so far, no dividends have been paid and I fear the sales forecasts are poor: roamad.com But hopefully, we will reach the Promised Land, some day, with ubiquitous wifi.

In case RoamAD is not successful, there is a backup plan with zenbu.net.nz which is now commercial.

In support of international Jewry, I gave our cash [in the early 1990s] to Dr Irwin Jacobs, who fortunately for us, invented CDMA which is now being welcomed by the Han and Hakka in China. Though they are as usual more than reluctant to pay for services rendered. But they are buying ASICs and paying a derisory royalty. Dividends from QCOM are far more than Big Ben's puny rewards for lending US$.

PS: Feel the love: <afterward, virtually all trace of Jewish life in Shanghai was wiped away. Schools and shops closed, and most synagogues were demolished by China's new rulers.>
