Sorry to change the subject, but interesting article in Barron's today about the "platform" multinationals that outsource their manufacturing and routine coding to China, India and other cheap labor countries, thus greatly reducing inventories, debt, etc. and keeping the lion's share of profits to themselves.

Nothing new here, but it again triggered a question in my mind: when will Chinese companies move off from being just manufacturers to owning the entire pie, creating brands, designs, etc. Any rough estimates in your opinion?
