I'm so glad. Whenever I recommend books, I always worry that people will hate them.
I just finished a strange book called Mendel's Dwarf (Simon Maher). It was a disturbing book, te kind that haunts you with questions about ethics and life and a whole slew of things.

The story of a brilliant achondroplastic dwarf who has spent his life trying to find out "why", the book alternates his personal story with that of his distant relation, Gregor Mendel.

With all the discussion of genetic possibilities and choices these days, it's certainly timely. Coincidentally and provocatively, there was an article in the Dallas Morning News yesterday that dealt with the opposite side of "unnatural selection", and is a wonderful complement to the usual viewpoint.
