For example there is a relationship between the US leaving Vietnam and the subsequent rise of the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia. I don't blame the US for the 2 million Cambodians killed by the Khmer Rouge - that responsibility lies with Pol Pot and his decision of what to do when he came to power.

In the same way there is a relationship between the Bush led removal of Saddam's regime and the subsequent Iraqi on Iraqi violence, but I don't hold G Bush responsible for Iraqis killing each other. That responsibility lies with the killers and their leadership.

I guess, then, we have differing views on responsibility. For an example, someone leaves water lying in the middle of the floor and someone else comes along and slips and breaks an arm. I see the person leaving the water on the floor as partly responsible. You probably do not.

However, whether we agree or not, the world view is that Bush is responsible and that there is a relationship between the Bush invasion and the current violence in Iraq.
