Merry Christmas.

Mq, I realize it's probably Dec. 26 already in your part of the world, but I do nonetheless hope Christmas was joyfyul for you and yours.

Here comes 2007. I wonder what MADness will be inflicted on us during 2007.

Who knows. Our specie's capacity for mischief is endless.

The Islamic fascists seem enamored of the grand gesture, so perhaps we will see some grand terrorism. I also think the Iranian nuclear situation will become more heated as sanctions become a reality, but there is no telling where it will end.

If alive, Osama may not live into 2008.

From my own parochial perspective, the El Nino which kept hurricanes away will end, increasing the chances this Summer of having to deal with another Katrina.

What a thing the Roman Empire was.

Someday the same thing will be said about the Anglo-American Empire.

The NOK license will expire in early April.

With any luck, the execution of Soddom Insane, which cannot help but make the world a better place.

(I don't believe in execution of murderers except when it is the only way to stop them from killing again.)

Lane3 raised an interesting point on Lindy's thread which didn't get much traction, that Islamic theocracy and democracy don't seem to be compatible. (I don't lurk Lindy's thread, I lurk Lane3's posts, just as I lurk your posts, only you post where I can respond (mostly), where she posts I am either banned or threatened with banishment.)

In the Middle East, King George II's "megalomania" is the belief that every human being aspires to freedom.

Is this so? If one is, say, Soddom Insane or a Mad Mullah or Amadinijad, or Kim Jung Ill, whose patent desires are to control as many other people as is possible, can it be said that these also aspire to freedom?

Power is, no doubt, exhilarating, but how can one be free, knowing that you can't even sleep at night without everybody around you wishing to murder you in your sleep so they can have your job?
