No they aren't. THAT'S the job they've been tasked with. They're failing at it.


Lets keep it simple. Superman is close to invincible, right? If George Bush asks Superman to help repair a miscellaneous broken marriage, and Superman fails to stop the couple from fighting and they get divorced, do you therefore conclude that Superman is not invincible? I hope not, because he is still pretty invincible (as long as you don't throw Kryptonite his way).

Invincible means incapable of being overcome or subdued. It does not mean capable of doing anything asked of you.
