Now I understand the tent idea. Makes more sense that way. I use a garlic powder on all steaks, sometimes a seasoned salt. I always rub it in and let it sit, covered, on the counter for an hour or more prior to cooking. Always room temp when I start it. Same for George Foreman or outdoors on the grill. I tried a teriyaki marinade on a steak a long time ago and hated it. I always thought teriyaki would make anything taste good... not true.

Our forecast overnight low is 31 for tonight. Tomorrow's high will only be 33, they tell us. Snow starting mid day.

Question: You have brought the steak in and it is tented inside the home. Is that right?

I love rare, husband loves med. rare. This may be worth trying :)
