Kerry has 12-18 months for a comeback. I am on record as saying Gore is the strongest candidate, only because he was the first to deserve the White House and be cheated out of it, plus he's obviously qualified. But so far no real interest from Gore.

If Gore does not run, I am holding to the position that democrats will end up nominating a white male. If that's true, then if Gore doesn't run, Kerry becomes the new surprise comeback story, in battle with Edwards and maybe Biden, if he picks up steam.

The democratic base always gets excited about anti-establishment outsiders at first, but then they get realistic later. Howard Dean, Bill Bradley, Jerry Brown, Jesse jackson, Paul tsongas, Eugene McCarthy, Obama, Edwards, the list goes on and on. In the end, none of them ever get nominated.

let me tell you, the Kerry camp does not fear Hillary. There is only one person they really fear, Al Gore. But Kery has never backed away from a fight even if he's afraid. That was proven back in Vietnam, and again versus Nixon and all the others.

Take away Hillary and Obama and early polls show Kerry #2. Edwards is ahead of him, but Kerry can beat Edwards every time on foreign policy military gravitas. And that expertise will really matter in 2008.

Is it the post signed "Sissie?" <g>

Why would anyone be interested in the Puff Pastry Post?
Not long ago Arianna was one of the most strident Republicans in party politics. She served as an attack dog in exchange for their consideration of her billionaire husband as a Repub candidate. When he lost the election, and proceeded to bury his sorrow with another man, Arianna saw the writing on the wall for her future with the GOP. She instantly converted to the Democrat Party. As a result, her depth of conviction re liberal politics is very suspect.
