dunno...I get the impression that its an older version and that the m4 is or has mostly replaced it. Maybe that's just the marines and not the army.

Read some interesting stuff though...during the vietnam war one of the biggest complaints was that the ammo didn't always do the job, ie they found it didn't penetrate light fabrics very well. When I checked out the specs I wasn't surprised. A .22 caliber, 120~130 grain slug?? Good grief I would have no confidence in such a light round. I'm guessing the lighter round is a purely economical reaction. Seems stupid to me though...if I were over there I'd want a real bullet, so why can't the troops have "real" bullets? A Nosler partition bullet, 165 grain, that'd be a minimum I'd want to shoot.
