Rather than having people begging or hoping to be lucky in their need for charity when having had bad luck, as does happen in life, I thought it would be much more sensible for charity to be a government function, so that people could get help in their hour of need. After not too long in the adult world, where people work for a living and governments pee their efforts down the drain, I learned that governments don't do anything effectively and all too often do things harmfully; the opposite of what's needed. I also took part in getting the vote lowered to 18 [when I was 18 and certainly felt very responsible, especially when they were conscripting 18 year olds to do military service]. So, it's my fault, indirectly. I thought governments handling charity and young people voting were good ideas. So, what happened was governments created vast welfare dependency without responsibility and young people voted for dopey ideas such as lots of socialism and Big Brother. <What do you think is the cause of the problem/s you are experiencing in NZ...? > But it wasn't me who beat the infants to death, and conducted all the other carnage, so the cause due to me was indirect. Nevertheless, I do accept that my young ideas were part of creating the situation in which the hideously cruel and thuggish could make their way. Now I would ditch nearly all the welfare bludging and bring back charity in which individuals had better behave themselves if they want help from people. Jobs would be a good start for lots of them. Getting along well seems to be achieved in Singapore and Japan as two examples. Switzerland is pretty good too. Overall, in NZ you would think that things are pretty good here. Now I think there should be tradable citizenships and a constitution restricting government actions and voters should vote their dollar contributions to the state, not vote to spend OPM. [other people's money] Not one man one vote, but one person, lots of votes [as many votes as dollars they contribute, like a shareholding in a company]. Mqurice
