By the Supreme Court if the 50 states can't figure it out. That's why the Supreme Court is there. It's part of the checks and balances upon which this country is built. Sometimes the 50 states have to be made free of their own tyranny.

That is a very good response and I agree fully.

"Do you think the legality of abortion should be decided by the Supreme Court or by the elected legislatures of the 50 states?"

By the Supreme Court if the 50 states can't figure it out.

What do you mean "can't figure it out"? The legislatures of the 50 states can make policy regarding abortion, and if the public disapproves of the policy they can vote the legislatures out of office and vote for politicians that run on an abortion platform that the public supports. If the public approves of the policy, everything is hunky dory.

What's to figure out?

That's why the Supreme Court is there. It's part of the checks and balances upon which this country is built. Sometimes the 50 states have to be made free of their own tyranny.

The Supreme Court is there to make sure the states don't implement policy that violates the constitution, not to help the states with things that they "can't figure out", whatever that means.

Do you think abortion rights are implied somewhere in the Constitution? I don't. Right to bear arms, and right to free speech, sure. Right to a specific medical operation - I don't think so.
