I think because Hillary served unofficially in the white house for eight years and her husband brought us through the Bosnian Serb thing without a casualty due to hostile fire, an also presided over much Palestinian/Israeli stuff she has gained stature because of that. It's not like she is just a first term Senator. She's miles ahead of OB in terms of having walked the walk with regard to military/foreign affairs issues.

My problem with Kerry is the same problem I have with Bush. Both are very hard headed though the degree varies. Kerry had to read from a prepared text when he delivered his speech when he gaffed. Instead, he decided to deviate from his prepared speech and consequently send a very different message which backfired on him. Clinton (Bill) is a smart man (remember what "is" is and "is" is not. Only Clinton could think it up). Kerry is not so smart. And Bush is a totally different story.
