I'll preface my comments with stating that
I was and am opposed to the invasion of Iraq
in the first place; but since we did invade
I suppose that now we 'own it' ..

IF you listen to President Bush on Wednesday, exactly what would you like him to say to you?

OK .. I'll bite <g> ..

Admission that Iraq is a label and not a country ..

That our policy going forward will be to facilitate the
re-rationalization of the region along ethnic/sectarian
lines in as peaceful a manner as possible involving all
groups/states ie Jordan/Saudi/Iran/Syria/Turkey;
something that should have been done after WWI ..

Hand the administration of Baghdad off to the UN ..
as a UN protectorate with the goal of peaceful
self administration by the locals ..

Have US troops withdraw to their desert bases
No longer functioning as the greater Baghdad
Police Force ..

Negotiate a oil revenue sharing agreement among
all ethnic factions and get production back
on the world market ..

Refocus on cleaning up Al Quida and
strengthening the Afghan government ..

Put more pressure on Pakistan or actively
help them root out Taliban remnants ..

Transition the entire operation to a
UN administered action over time ..

Triff ..
