Wow, why would you waste your time talking about this. Most of the world is just happy to see evil swing from the gallows. Hope all Kiwis aren't fruitcakes.

He wasn't found guilty of invading Iran or for helping Donald Rumsfeld achieve his aims in the mid 1980s when they were working together. Nor for gassing Kurds or Iranians. BTW who sold him all the ammo and gas and weaponized gas and stuff which he used so enthusiastically? Maybe Donald Rumsfeld was there for the golf or to convert to Islam or something.

I am glad you have come up to speed with the usual diatribes. I pointed out that you forgot this Rumsfield charge lately and it was making your charges sound weak compared to what they could be.

The real point though is that Saddam was executed for the first charge. Many more trials are to follow, but the Iraqi government felt the first guilty conviction was sufficient for execution. No doubt he will be found guilty for more death sentences to come.

Comparing what some did in this country to align themselves with the lesser of two evils when it was prudent to do so umpty yrs ago and also trying to make a comparison to what a deranged and murderous Lt Calley.........who did not have authority from higher ups, but took on a role that was not his to take and by every account was and still is chastised and admonished by all Americans, and making the comparison to the evil person SH became and was tried and convicted in an Iraqi court of law........who some detest and consider a circus which is their right, and which others consider legitimate in all ways......is a real stretch.

The only comparison to make.......two courts of law, two outcomes. Thankfully Lt. Calley didn't go on to become some sort of dictator of some Asian nation and subject others to this cruelty. SH won't have that luxury ever again.

Innocent people killed in war zones is wrong, but inevitable. If the people of my town were to find themselves in the middle of a military struggle I would not be surprised to learn that my neighbor was killed. Or that I might be killed......even though I'm innocent.

Humans making mistakes or doing things that should only be written about in novels.

I think you have a problem with race, and I think you have a problem with humans being human. I do too when those with in a position of power go about the business of murdering innocent people....and I don't care what race they are.......using power to kill innocent people is wrong.........we can all agree.

Your prerogative!

Revenge...........damned right. Wrong to exact revenge....... maybe.......but not in this case.

What did you.......or the rest expect?
