Perhaps I was completely unaware of the problem, or more likely having grown up along the Northern border I never thought about it, but all my life people have been running back and forth across the border, now that things are getting so tight, frankly it is less and less fun, and more and more bother. Soon day trips on the American Canadian border, and people living in one country and working in the other will stop. And as for Canadians paying $75.00 and dealing with the Federal Government to get a passport to go to Buffalo for a quart of milk, most won't.

Is it possible that the tightening of the border is creating the problem of Mexicans wanting to live full time in the US. It seems to me that when the border was relatively porous the Mexicans came relatively openly, made some money and went home to the wife and kids. Now if they go home, they cannot come back, making all kinds of things worse. And since Mexico depends on the money coming from the temporary workers, they have no interest in solving what was never a huge problem before. Are we creating a problem with Canada and Mexico, in order to not face the problem we have with Islam?

Headed for Tucson tomorrow

I do like Tucson - a lot.
Be sure to visit the Saguaro National Park and the big new casino South of town. Edit on second thought not so new anymore.

And don't forget Davis-Monthan AFB and the Military Aircraft Boneyard.
