No corelation? Well I'm not sure, that's possibly too strong, but at least "little corelation, past a certain minimum level of funding" seems accurate. See Message 23172228

You're assuming that kids 30 years ago were better educated than they are now. I don't know why you think that is true. You don't read the latest test results? Even the system has made the tests easier and we're still failing. Teachers can't even teach the test and get the numbers better. Record numbers of teachers can't even pass what they're responsible for teaching. Can you? It's not our kids' fault. It's the parents and the failed entrenched tenured educational system. I am not sure what you think is at fault. Please explain. What part of it concerning parents' and tenured teachers being at fault do you not understand? Z just finished his education 8 years ago. He doesn't sound poorly educated to me. Fortunately some of us discovered how to pick up a book and read and learn on our on. Why are you in college? I got all of my licenses and certifications with no classes or teachers. I have my own library. I don't need a teacher to read a book to me. A book that is years out of date. My fundamental point is, new schoolhouses, great football teams, higher paid teachers, bigger unions, smaller class sizes, or a new Escalade for every high school student isn't going to solve why America's children are falling behind.
