Lacking scientific rigour? You must be joking. Mine are fully internally consistent theories and match all 3D observations of reality, and also predict further data which can be checked.

C2, you didn't even mention oxytocin, the bonding chemical, released during orgasm and lots of pain in childbirth. Don't forget endorphins and other chemistry.

They even inject oxytocin into women after giving birth to accelerate uterus contraction and placenta detachment, which is a dubious practise but presumably they have some data to support the action.

Correlation of post natal depression and pain relief is the key. Of course there are other variables too, so it won't be a total correlation such as a light switch on or off. Some women have serious depression before pregnancy, so they are likely to have those variables still in place afterwards too.

Of course Google has nothing. That's why I deserve a Nobel Prize: <I cannot imagine that natural vs. Caesarean birth makes any difference. Google says nothing, but I haven't looked exhaustively. >
