Of course it will make a difference, and thank you for asking... but first, I think we should send far more than just 20,000 additional troops, but to answer your question... the difference is in their specific combat deployment, and here's how: Don't think that these additional troops will continue the same strategy that was implemented before, that would make no sense and I can then understand why you don't see how it would make any difference, if this is what you think... What our troops have been doing is clearing one area at a time in a sweep, this would route out the enemy and secure the area for the civilians... the only problem has been that as soon as our troops left that area, the enemy would return... these additional troops would be used to keep those areas secured, something like a post sweep operation to police the area... this is a standard military tactic and has been very successful in other combat situations... I agree we could have done this earlier, but we can't look back and we can't walk away... if we ever withdrew from Iraq, we would only have to go back into Iraq at a later date and things would be that much worse... this is not Bush's war, this is a war that the terrorist moslums started and declared against all of us, and this war could take a generation, since they have already brain washed their next generation that America is their enemy... Realize, they started this war, we can't make believe that nothing will happen if we fold, it's not Bush's war, it's an American effort to ensure our own security... What I find remarkable is that those same dummycrats who, only two weeks ago, were bitching and moaning how we need more troops are now bitching and moaning that we shouldn't send more troops... they will whine about anything to contradict Bush... they have successfully created a parody of themselves, they have no idea how transparent and ridiculous they look... to the dummycrats, 3000 military deaths in four years is not acceptable, but 3000 civilian deaths in two hours on 9/11 is okay? Meanwhile, we lost more than 8000 Marines on Iwo Jima in just three weeks and far more than that on the beaches on D-Day morning, I ask you, did anyone say we should withdraw our troops then? GZ
