Doing things just for profit is uncivilized. We should strive to be civilized. That means doing things even though there is no 'profit' for ourselves because it is for the greater good.

We are supposedly in a serious state of war yet instead of making provisions to win this war, resources are going to enrich a small number of people. Note that this small number of people also includes people like the bin Ladens and the Saudis and the Iranian mullahs.

This is what war profiteering looks like.
