What is next -- banning science education? The US has its own radical mullahs that would turn the clock on knowledge back a thousand years -- they are alive and sometimes even show up on this thread. It looks like they are in control of the Federal Way school district.

The requirement to represent another side follows district policy to represent both sides of a controversial issue, board President Ed Barney said.

"What is purported in this movie is, 'This is what is happening. Period. That is fact,' " Barney said.

This seems like a legitimate concern to me. Gore deliberately presented the worst case scenario in order to get people's attention.

It's a good rhetorical device when you are attempting to sway public opinion by the use of rhetoric, but rhetoric has no place in a science classroom.

I would suggest that the movie be suggested to the students as voluntary supplementary information and allow them to view it in the school library during lunch or after school. That way, the school isn't put into the position of endorsing a political message.

"Condoms don't belong in school, and neither does Al Gore. He's not a schoolteacher," said Frosty Hardison, a parent of seven who also said that he believes the Earth is 14,000 years old.

ROTFLMAO!
