The weather has been severe, even by Scottish standards.

OK, it's just one data point in overall weather conditions but there are trends that can be monitored.

There is the concept of AVERAGE temperature for a start. Here is a plot of AVERAGE temperature summed on a global scale.

So, when you are considering temperatures, just because it was warmer on some hot sunny Sunday afternoon a gazzilion years ago, it's the trend you have to watch.

Now maybe all the data is a mass conspiracy by all the scientists working world wide in collusion to get more grant money.

that is slightly beyond wacko theory though...
