Peter, you keep talking about "freedom" in Iraq. No matter how this turns out, it isn't going to turn out with everybody in Iraq having anything like the freedom we have in the U.S. Freedom for the Kurds will mean not having to have any association with the Sunnis and Shiites. Freedom for the Shiites will mean wiping out or totally subjugating the Sunnis. Freedom for the Sunnis will mean forestalling their murder or subjugation by the Shiites. These people are NOT going to just be friends and live in harmony...it just AIN'T gonna happen.
