I know I will be staying in until all signs of ice are gone.

Yes our pipes are wrapped, but we have gas logs in my husband's study and can depend on that if we lose power at any time. Haven't bought firewood in several years as if I had it would have been rotten by now. Had such a mild winter last year. Was also hoping we would have another mild winter this year...oh well can hope this will be all over quickly. I will be dressing in layers until it is.

Glad you are staying home as I think we will hear of many more accidents than usual the next couple days. On my way home today, heard on the radio they were starting to put limestone on all bridges and overpasses early.

Not going to worry about the trees as I had them all trimmed and dead branches removed back in August before our likely hurricane season. All those close to the roof line were cut back and way away from the house. These trees are all about one hundred fifty years old and their root systems are very strong. But, if one of those fell toward the house, it would be a disaster area for sure. Their branches are huge and can probably withstand a lot of ice if that becomes a reality here.

Stay warm and comfortable.
