"Let him fully articulate his positions in the next few months and let's watch him in a few debates".

I also have a few friends that are salivating over a Hillary / Obama ticket..............no particular order, just the two in any order.

"Yet, it's amazing that the GOP totally FAILED to do their due diligence (on Bush)"

I don't think that's true. I think he was SELECTED because he
WAS:

-- an empty suit
-- a "pretty face" so to speak
-- a "smooth talker"

I think Obama is being put forward by his backers because:

-- a blank slate, relatively speaking, who speaks in platitudes
and generalities.
-- a "pretty face" so to speak
-- a "smooth talker"

This makes him an eminently CONTROLLABLE candidate.
He may have backers who are more friendly to the values that you and I have. MAYBE. But Buffet, while a more benign man than many, is one of the richest men in the world. Do you think he is WITHOUT AN AGENDA? Do you know what it is?

Right now, Obama looks to me like an excellent FRONT MAN.
Relatively zero in the way of tangible accomplishments in public life and hard-core positions that might type-cast him.

Is he just a fancy dancer in order to avoid getting any opposition from any camp? The friend of everybody because he temporarily just reflects them to themselves?

THE IDEAL CHAMELEON PRESIDENT?

If elected President might over time come up to the standard of the greatest CHAMELEON PRESIDENT of all time-- Bill Clinton, who presideded over turning the Democrats into such a big business friendly, centrist organization that it became indistinguishable from the Republicans.

THUS DESERTING THE VAST MASSES OF THE AMERICAN PUBLIC!

Of course I still love Clinton, the old wastrel scalliwag
charmer. I love his IQ. But I think his end-contribution was
negative.

Namaste!

Jim

I was only comparing him to Bush in that he speaks in platitudes. You say "let him fully articulate his positions ..." OK, I'm waiting.

So far he has said nothing - but he says it very well.
