I was asked on another thread what a "death blow" is.

Jeff looked at the stochastics on charts. When a stochastic moved up from oversold to the 50 line and then moved back down he termed it a "death blow." The stock was sure to follow back down. When the opposite happened and a stochastic moved down from overbought to the 50 line and then turned back up, he termed it "anti-venom."

60 minute death blows are not as powerful as daily; daily death blows aren't as powerful as weekly. Monthly deathblows (and anti-venom) are rare and are the most powerful of all.

Full stochastic death blows are the most "reliable,"" followed by slo and fast. (Note this doesn't mean fast stochastic death blows aren't reliable.)

Anti-venom on shorter time frames negates death blows on longer time frames.

I believe the T/A tells you what you should have done after you should have done it. However, I will say that if the monthly stos I pointed out turn down from here forming stochastic death blows, the homies are toast.

BTW, look at the HGX. If it turns down from here it will form a monthly death blow.

Also note that in all of the charts I posted in the preceding post there's the potential for RSI death blows concurrent with the stochastics. That's a lethal combination.

Years ago I bookmarked several posts of Jeff's talking about death blows and anti-venom:

Yep. Watch those. We have a couple now in our neighborhood in foreclosure. This was a bubble area where houses had sold in less than 10 days on the market, for a couple of years. We had 3 years in a row of 20+% gains, way above the inflation rate. It was a mania. One has been empty now, a year and a half. The other is empty too. Don't let those bottom callers fool you. This is more like the beginning than the end. People here are starting to get desperate.

Looking at the charts in the post to which this post responds,

LEN has a death blow on the monthly Full Sto

CTX has a death blow on the monthly Fast Sto

TOL has the beginnings of a death blow on the monthly Full Sto

KBH has the beginnings of a death blow on the monthly Fast Sto

RYL has death blows on both the monthly Fast and Full Sto

the homies are toast
