I like the chart especially the growth of Other Asia but also the dramatic falloff in the former USSR.

Your chart prompted me to update mine and correct the fact that the Former USSR and China were accidentally depicted on the right hand scale. Because of the new gridlines, it is also much easier to find one's bearings now I hope.



It is open season for chart competition now.<g>

I don't see the 2006 annual data at that link. I could only find the first 3 quarters for '06.

YoY World Oil consumption growth:
2003 2.1%
2004 3.4%
2005 1.9%
2006 0.8% (through Q3 vs. Q3 2005)

So oil consumption was up, but growth slowed. I guess there is some price elasticity!
