As I've had to remind people on this thread over and over again, I'm not against social programs nor am I a minimalist zealot. But it is not the government's job to redistribute wealth. Providing safety nets is all fine and good, but entitlements only increase the public's dependency on them and help exacerbate the gap between rich and poor. Better to improve education and cultural standards, but that has to be done outside of a government context. Tenchusatsu
